Coping With Chronic Disease

Submitted - 31/7/2008

ABC Health and Wellbeing recently printed a report on chronic diseases in The Pulse. The article written by Peter Lavelle pointed out some interestin

  • People are living longer
  • Chronic diseases are becoming more prevelant
  • 36% of over 65's have arthritis
  • 16% have heart disease

In the article, they also quoted a study done in the Netherlands on how people cope with chronic disease. They found that people who cope best are those that do the following:

  • Move Well
  • Think Well
  • And Eat Well

Isn't it funny, these are the same principles that are taught in wellness chiropractic practices around the world and in my chiropractic practice in Chatswood. Although doing each of these wellness strategies will help a "sick" person, chiropractors encourage everyone to take a proactive approach to their health and stop anything from happening to begin with.
