Subluxation

A shift in the spine that puts pressure on the spinal cord and nerves.

Chiropractors look for subluxations in the spine and then use gentle techniques to put the spine back into alignment and allow your body to function optimally.

What Causes Subluxations?

• Subluxations are caused from stress in the body. The stress can be in 3 forms:
• Physical
  Example's of physical stress could be a fall (macrotrauma), or sitting slouched in a chair (microtrauma).
• Chemical
  Taking prescription or over the counter medications is an example of a chemical stress that can cause subluxations. Another example would be alcohol.
• Emotional
  Emotional stress can also stress your nervous system. Examples might be how we react to or percieve financial worries, relationship challenges, or work challenges.

How do subluxations interfere with my ability to have optimal health?

Your brain is your master control system. It controls all the functions in your body from the colours you see to the sounds you hear to the beating of your heart. What would happen if the nerve that controls arm movement was cut? Most people understand this dramatic example would cause total loss of arm movement.

What would happen though if instead of cutting the nerve, we had pressure on the nerve, similiar to when we get a spinal bone out of alignment? This will then interfere with the normal transmission signals from the brain to the body?

This is what can occur with subluxations. So you see regular chiropractic care is good for your whole body.
